Portchester Castle, Hampshire England

This was the first castle I ever saw in England when I first went over ten years ago. Of course we went again. It's right near our "home base" for the first 6 days of our trip. Near kids, Mother-in-law, as we planned lots to do with kids and mum.

Within the castle walls is St.Mary's church and that day, the church ladies were holding an afternoon tea, which we did enjoy after roaming around the grounds.

Outer wall.

This was one of my best photos.

Wild flowers growing straight out of the wall.

The tower, still intact.

Here's a link http://www.castlexplorer.co.uk/england/portchester/portchester.php to a little bit of history. It actually dates as far back to 500AD, I think.
